In a span of 85 days, the rugose, potato leaf plants of 'Dwarf Tanager' reach a height of four to five feet, exhibiting robust productivity. The fruit, with a smooth skin and oblate shape, ranges from four to twenty ounces each and showcases a bright pale orange color. Notably, these tomatoes feature an intense flavor that tends towards the tart end of the taste spectrum.

Derived from the "Fancy" family of the Dwarf Tomato Project, 'Dwarf Tanager' was carefully chosen and named by Susan Oliverson, who identified it as a distinct color variation during the development of 'Dwarf Goldfinch'. Additional contributors to this release include Dee Sackett, Craig LeHoullier, and Bill Minkey. Introduced by the Victory Seed Company for the 2021 gardening season, each seed packet contains a minimum of 20 seeds.

In an effort to keep this variety available to home gardeners, 'Dwarf Arctic Rose' has been released by "The Dwarf Tomato Project" (the breeder) to the public under the Open Source Seed Initiative (OSSI). You have the freedom to use these OSSI-Pledged seeds in any way you choose. In return, if you save seeds or use 'Dwarf Arctic Rose' to breed a new variety, you pledge not to restrict others' use of these seeds or their derivatives by patents or other means, and to include this pledge with any transfer of these seeds or their derivatives.
