In a span of 60 days, the 'Dwarf Arctic Rose' plants showcase regular dark green rugose foliage with sturdy central stems, reaching a height of approximately three feet. The fruit, ranging from three to eight ounces, is smooth and round to oblate, maturing to a pink hue with a clear skin and red interior. The flavor is delectably well-balanced.

Originating from a cross between 'Budai Torpe' and 'Black from Tula' in 2006 by Patrina Nuske Small in Australia, this variety was developed by the members of the "Dwarf Tomato Project" between 2006 and 2012. Named 'Grumpy,' the plant was primarily selected by Sherry Shiesl and Susan Bailey of Alaska, who collaborated on the name in 2011. Ted Maiden played a key role in growing the initial seed supply for its introduction in 2012. Each packet of seeds contains approximately 20 seeds.

In an effort to keep this variety available to home gardeners, 'Dwarf Arctic Rose' has been released by "The Dwarf Tomato Project" (the breeder) to the public under the Open Source Seed Initiative (OSSI). You have the freedom to use these OSSI-Pledged seeds in any way you choose. In return, if you save seeds or use 'Dwarf Arctic Rose' to breed a new variety, you pledge not to restrict others' use of these seeds or their derivatives by patents or other means, and to include this pledge with any transfer of these seeds or their derivatives.
